Zara Faces Boycott Calls Over Controversial Ad Resembling Gaza Tragedy

Spanish fashion retailer Zara is encountering demands for a boycott following its recent advertisement campaign titled “The Jacket,” which has sparked controversy for featuring images resembling the Israeli conflict in Gaza.

The campaign showcases individuals covered in white body bags, reminiscent of traditional Muslim burial garments, alongside images of rocks, debris, and a cardboard cutout resembling the map of Palestine.

Model Kristen McMenamy is seen in the advertisement holding a mannequin draped in white cloth, drawing parallels with photos depicting the aftermath of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Pakistani actress Ushna Shah strongly criticized international clothing brand Zara for its insensitive campaign, which appears to trivialize the destruction and loss endured by Palestinians since October 7.
