UG Medical and Japanese Firm to Collaborate on Medical Lab Test Equipment Factory in Egypt

Industrial Development Authority reveals plans for a 600 million Egyptian pound investment to construct a medical lab test equipment factory in partnership with UG Medical and a Japanese company.

The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) announced on Sunday that UG Medical, an Egyptian-based company, will join forces with a Japanese firm to establish a factory for the production of medical lab test equipment. The project, expected to require an investment of 600 million Egyptian pounds, will be situated on a 3,500-square-meter area within the IDA’s Katameya industrial zone.

The primary objective of this venture is to address the local market’s demand for medical lab test equipment while also targeting international markets. The factory plans to export up to 70 percent of its production to various regions, including South America, Africa, and the Middle East. This strategic move aims to cater to the growing global demand for such equipment and position the collaborative endeavor as a key player in the industry.
