Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will travel to Cairo on Saturday for high-level meetings centered on Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza, the future of bilateral ties, and broader regional cooperation, diplomatic sources told the state-run Anadolu news agency.

Fidan is scheduled to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and hold talks with Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. The visit comes as international concern mounts over Israel’s reported plans to seize control of Gaza City, while ceasefire negotiations continue under the mediation of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.

According to Anadolu’s sources, Fidan will reiterate Turkey’s firm opposition to what Ankara sees as Israel’s bid to annex Gaza and undermine the two-state solution.

Discussions are expected to address humanitarian aid access to the besieged enclave, the outcomes of the recent International Conference on Palestine, and coordinated Turkish-Egyptian efforts to bolster stability in Libya, Sudan, and the Sahel region.

The trip underscores Ankara’s growing diplomatic engagement in the Middle East as tensions over Gaza ripple across the region.
