Japanese automaker Toyota experienced a four percent decline in its shares on Thursday after recalling approximately one million vehicles, including 2020–2022 Toyota and Lexus models, in the United States.
The announcement followed a decision by Toyota’s small-car unit, Daihatsu Motor, to indefinitely halt shipments of all its vehicles after uncovering additional safety-inspection irregularities.
An independent investigation panel revealed that the latest issues impacted certain Mazda and Subaru models in the domestic market, as well as Toyota and Daihatsu models sold overseas.
