Siemens Energy’s CEO, Christian Bruch, emphasized that extensive due diligence was conducted before the full acquisition of its wind turbine subsidiary, Siemens Gamesa, according to Reuters on Monday. Bruch clarified that the company did not anticipate significant quality issues at Siemens Gamesa.
Despite opting for a €4 billion offer based on what was believed to be a “solid information foundation,” Siemens Energy’s management later realized it was a mistake due to the presence of defective parts. Bruch shared this information with shareholders during the group’s annual meeting.
