As of March 2024, Saudi Arabia will permit Egyptian women aged 25 and above to undertake the Hajj pilgrimage without the need for a male guardian, as announced by the Egyptian Tourism Federation (ETF) on Wednesday.
In a significant move, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had already revised regulations in 2022, allowing women to embark on the pilgrimage without a mahram or male guardian, as long as they were part of a trustworthy group of women.
