Qatar’s Prime Minister Affirms Persistent Pressure on Israel for Gaza Ceasefire

Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani, declared on Sunday an unwavering commitment to exert pressure on Israel for a ceasefire in Gaza, despite the diminishing likelihood of success. Al Thani emphasized that military aggression by Israel would not lead to the release of hostages in Gaza, underscoring the crucial need for further negotiations.

The Israeli attacks on Gaza have persisted for 64 days, resulting in a Palestinian death toll exceeding 17,700, with two-thirds of the casualties comprising children and women.

On Friday, the United States exercised its veto power at the United Nations, blocking a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. This decision came despite dire warnings from senior UN officials that millions of Palestinians in the war zone would face severe challenges in accessing aid if the Israeli attacks continued.

Notably, Jewish communities worldwide are observing the eight-day Hanukkah holiday since December 7. However, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) show no signs of halting their actions, continuing to perpetrate violence against innocent Palestinians.
