President Sisi Pledges Continued Support for Persons with Disabilities on International Day

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to supporting and empowering persons with disabilities in a statement marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Taking to his social media accounts, President Sisi described children with disabilities as a “blessing to the nation from Allah.”

“On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, I affirm that our children with disabilities are a blessing to the nation from Allah the Almighty,” the president wrote.

President Sisi expressed heartfelt appreciation for the families of children with disabilities, commending their unwavering support and belief in their children’s unique talents. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to their families for the unwavering support and belief they have in their children’s extraordinary abilities; a source of pride for us,” he said.

He reiterated Egypt’s ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive society. “The nation will continue to support and empower them, as the nation rises with the efforts of all its children,” he added.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed annually on December 3, highlights the importance of inclusion, accessibility, and equality for persons with disabilities. Egypt has consistently emphasized the need for comprehensive policies to empower individuals with disabilities, fostering a society where everyone can contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.
