President of Egypt’s National Council for Women Addresses Geopolitical Impact on Women

Maya Morsy, President of Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW), highlighted the significant impact of geopolitical shifts on Egyptian women, especially amid the ongoing Gaza crisis, during the Egyptian Women’s Summit.

Morsy stressed the critical role of women in decision-making positions during tumultuous times, emphasizing their competence and ability to earn trust and support from the government and presidency. As the world faces complex challenges, women’s voices and perspectives are invaluable, and the NCW aims to empower them for active participation in shaping policies and strategies.

The most pressing challenge, according to Morsy, is women’s access to the labor market and effective engagement with the private sector. She emphasized the importance of qualifying women across all fields, envisioning economic growth and development by equipping them with necessary skills and opportunities.

Morsy also pointed out gender dynamics, highlighting traits crucial for effective leadership demonstrated by women, including accuracy, honesty, and loyalty to their work. She noted instances where bank failures were relatively rare under women’s management, contrasting with historical patterns.
