Mohamed Salah Joins Egypt’s Training Camp in the UAE

In an exciting development for football fans, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is set to be a key figure in Egypt’s upcoming training camp in the United Arab Emirates. The national team recently announced its 25-strong squad for the training camp, which will take place in Al Ain from October 9th to October 17th.

Egypt’s training camp in Al Ain is a crucial component of their preparations for two significant events: the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign and the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for January. To fine-tune their skills and build team cohesion, Egypt will play friendly matches against Zambia and Algeria during this nine-day camp.

The first friendly match is against Zambia and is scheduled for next Thursday, followed by a clash with Algeria four days later. Both of these highly anticipated matches will be hosted at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium and are expected to draw enthusiastic crowds, with tickets likely to sell out.

Mohamed Salah, who has started the Premier League season impressively, is a vital part of Egypt’s squad and currently serves as the team’s captain. Prior to joining the national team in the UAE, Salah is expected to feature in Liverpool’s league encounter against Brighton on Sunday, showcasing his dedication to both club and country.

Manager Rui Vitoria has made some significant squad selections for this training camp, including the return of Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny and Trabzonspor winger Mahmoud “Trezeguet” Hassan, both of whom have recovered from injuries. Additionally, former Al Ain winger Hussein El Shahat and current Al Ahly teammate Emam Ashour have been recalled to the national team setup after an extended absence, adding depth and experience to the squad.

This training camp is the result of a collaboration between the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Egypt’s United Sports Company, highlighting the commitment to fostering football talent and excellence in the region.

Looking ahead, Egypt’s national team faces a challenging World Cup qualification campaign next month, where they will compete against Djibouti and Sierra Leone in a double-header. Group A also includes Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, and Ethiopia, promising intense competition in the quest for World Cup qualification.

Furthermore, Egypt’s football journey includes the prestigious 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted in Ivory Coast. Egypt’s impressive performance during the qualification matches, securing five victories out of six, positions them as strong contenders in this continental championship.

As Mohamed Salah joins his compatriots in Al Ain, the hopes and expectations of Egyptian football fans are riding high, with anticipation building for the exciting challenges that lie ahead on the international stage.
