Midea Group Inaugurates $25 Million Washing Machine Factory in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone

The renowned Chinese home appliances giant, Midea Group, has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art washing machine factory, a $25 million investment, located within the TEDA industrial zone in Ain Sokhna, announced the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) on Tuesday.

The newly established facility is strategically designed to cater to the burgeoning demand in the domestic market for household appliances while also serving as a production hub for international exports, as highlighted by Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone. El-Din lauded the strategic positioning of the economic zone and the seamless integration between industrial zones and ports, streamlining the export process to diverse global markets.

Construction for the innovative washing machine factory commenced in 2021, encompassing an expansive area of 60,000 square meters, overseen by TEDA Egypt, the industrial development entity. This milestone marks a pivotal step towards fostering industrial growth and economic advancement within the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
