As previously reported, the Sea Story vessel departed from a port near Marsa Alam on Sunday, and the 28 individuals rescued from the sea on Monday are currently staying in the resort town. Authorities are working with various embassies to provide necessary assistance and documentation for the rescued people.
Marsa Alam, a popular resort town situated along Egypt’s Red Sea coast, is approximately 740 km from Cairo. Despite its small population of around 10,000, the town is renowned for its world-class diving spots, sandy beaches, and pristine reefs that stretch over a 50 km shoreline, making it one of Egypt’s top tourist destinations.
