Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening economic and diplomatic ties with Qatar, while also reiterating Egypt’s support for Yemen’s stability and unity, during high-level discussions at the Doha Summit this week.
Speaking on the sidelines of the summit, Madbouli emphasized Egypt’s readiness to expand Qatari investments across strategic sectors including infrastructure, renewable energy, real estate, and logistics, citing Qatar’s growing role as a key regional investor.
“Egypt welcomes Qatari investments as a pillar of regional economic integration,” Madbouli said, highlighting the importance of Gulf–Egypt cooperation in advancing sustainable development and resilience amid global economic challenges.
Officials said discussions between Madbouli and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani focused on enhancing bilateral trade, streamlining investment regulations, and exploring joint projects in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
The Egyptian leader also used the platform to reaffirm Cairo’s support for Yemen, calling for renewed international efforts to achieve a comprehensive political settlement and alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
“Egypt stands with Yemen in its pursuit of peace, sovereignty, and reconstruction,” Madbouli declared, urging all regional partners to “work collectively for stability in the Arabian Peninsula.”
Analysts view Madbouli’s visit as part of Cairo’s broader diplomatic effort to deepen alliances within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and attract foreign capital amid Egypt’s ongoing economic reforms.
The summit, which gathered regional leaders and investors, also addressed global issues including food security, climate resilience, and regional peacebuilding, signaling a renewed push for cooperation between Arab nations.
