Jordan’s Tourism Sees Significant Growth with 51.3 Percent Increase in Visitors

The Tourism Ministry of Jordan announced on Wednesday that the country experienced a remarkable surge in tourism rates, witnessing a 51.3 percent rise in the number of visitors during the first seven months of 2023.

An unprecedented total of 3,720,259 tourists visited the Kingdom during this period, marking a substantial increase in tourism inflow.

The ministry also reported a 47 percent growth in overnight tourists, with a total of 3,085,145 guests recorded from January to July 2023, compared to the same period in the previous year. The number of overnight tourists from Asian countries saw a significant spike of 145.9 percent when compared to the same period in 2022.

Furthermore, overnight tourists from European countries increased by 85.8 percent during the mentioned period, followed by the United States, which saw a rise of 78.1 percent.

In July 2023, 694,207 tourists visited Jordan, showing a notable increase of 21.7 percent compared to the same month in the previous year.

The positive trend in tourism is also reflected in the significant growth of tourism revenues, which soared by 59.4 percent according to the Central Bank of Jordan. The tourism revenues reached approximately 2.450 billion Jordanian Dinar during the first half of 2023.
