Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant informed White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan that concluding operations in Gaza will take several more months. Gallant emphasized Hamas’ extensive infrastructure development over the past decade, both underground and above ground.
He stressed the need for an extended military effort to dismantle the group, estimating that it will extend beyond several months.
The continuous attacks on Gaza have spanned 70 days, resulting in over 18,600 civilian casualties and more than 50,000 injuries. The duration and intensity of the military campaign have caused unprecedented damage to the besieged strip in less than three months.
