Israel Releases 39 Palestinian Prisoners in Exchange for 24 Israelis Held by Hamas

On Friday, Israel, as reported by Al Arabiya, released 39 Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, in a significant exchange with Hamas. The deal unfolded on the initial day of a four-day humanitarian pause in Gaza.

The terms of the exchange encompass the liberation of 50 Israeli hostages in return for 150-300 Palestinian prisoners currently held in Israeli prisons. The initial group of Palestinian hostages has been released from Damon prison in Israel and is en route to the occupied West Bank.

Simultaneously, the Israeli hostages have safely crossed into Israel via the border with Egypt.

This exchange follows a 48-day continuous conflict in Gaza, resulting in the tragic loss of over 15,000 innocent lives and injuries to more than 31,000 individuals.
