Egyptian central bank governor Hassan Abdalla on Wednesday stressed the importance of mitigating risks and fostering private sector returns in order to unlock the full potential of the private sector.
Speaking at the African Development Bank’s (AfDB) Annual Meetings taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Abdalla said that the private sector is not only needed for the funding but it is crucial to have an efficient management of the private sector and provide opportunities.
Abdalla, who is also the Governor for Egypt of the AfDB, further said that there are “trillion dollars of opportunities” in Africa.
“Africa is very well positioned with opportunities and not only opportunities with a competitive edge, but the edge of the resources of the human capital.” the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) governor added following the launch of the African Economic Outlook 2023.
