Gaza Emerges as the World’s Most Dangerous Place for Women, ActionAid Reports

Global NGO ActionAid revealed alarming statistics, stating that more than three Palestinian women and girls are killed every hour in Gaza, making it the most perilous location for women globally. The organization highlighted unprecedented levels of violence against females in Gaza, where they are experiencing horrifying rates of injuries and fatalities.

According to ActionAid, women and girls in Gaza are denied basic rights, including access to food, water, and healthcare, while enduring significant psychological strain and trauma due to the continuous state of terror that has persisted for over two months.

Riham Jafari, Coordinator of Advocacy and Communication for ActionAid Palestine, stated, “Gaza is the most dangerous place in the world to be a woman or girl right now. The number of women and girls being senselessly killed in this violence rises by the hour.” She added that meeting basic needs has become a desperate daily struggle for women and girls in the region.

Doctors in Gaza informed ActionAid that, on average, at least two mothers are killed every hour, and every two hours witness the death of seven women in the besieged Palestinian territory. The report sheds light on the urgent need for attention and intervention to address the dire situation faced by women and girls in Gaza.
