Egypt’s Strategic Sugar Reserves Sufficient for Nearly 7.8 Months, Affirms Minister of Supply and Internal Trade

In a statement released on Tuesday, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moselhi revealed that Egypt currently possesses strategic sugar reserves capable of meeting local consumption needs for approximately 7.8 months.

Moselhi emphasized the ample stockpile of strategic commodities in Egypt’s reserves, ensuring a sustained supply to address domestic requirements for an extended period. The announcement was made in conjunction with the Food Africa 2023 and Pacprocess exhibitions, taking place at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC) in Cairo from December 12 to 14.

Featuring more than 800 exhibitors from 32 countries, Food Africa 2023 underscores Egypt and Africa’s dedication to economic and technological progress. The exhibitions highlight the critical role of international trade and industry in advancing the region’s economic landscape.
