President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt expressed his approval on Wednesday for the agreement reached on a humanitarian pause in Gaza. The pause, set to commence within the next 24 hours and lasting for four days, carries the potential for extension.

As part of the accord, 50 civilian Palestinian women and children held captive in the Gaza Strip will be released, reciprocated by the release of a number of Palestinian women and children currently incarcerated in Israeli jails.

President Sisi underscored the commitment to sustaining Egyptian efforts aimed at achieving a definitive and lasting solution. The overarching goals include the establishment of justice, the promotion of peace, and the assurance of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
