Egypt’s ITIDA and Huawei Sign Cooperation Agreement to Boost Artificial Intelligence Development

The Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) of Egypt and Huawei, a leading technology company, have entered into a cooperation agreement aimed at advancing the country’s achievements in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The agreement was signed on Thursday and aims to enhance Egypt’s position in global AI indicators, according to the Ministry of Transport.

As part of the collaboration, both parties will work together to prepare a comprehensive report that assesses the current state of AI technology adoption in Egypt. The analysis will help identify areas of improvement and set a roadmap to strengthen AI development efforts in the country.

Egypt is committed to implementing various measures to promote the use of AI, recognizing its significant role in the country’s technological progress and global rankings in AI indicators. The Minister of Transport, Amr Talaat, expressed the country’s keen interest in leveraging AI’s potential to drive growth and development.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) sealing the partnership was signed by Hossam Osman, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority, and Jim Liu, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Egypt. This collaboration between the two entities is expected to pave the way for further advancements in Egypt’s AI capabilities and applications.
