Egypt’s House of Representatives has approved a €3 million agreement with the European Union (EU) to support the country’s efforts in expanding local vaccine and medicine manufacturing. The grant is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to increase domestic production of medical products and ensure equitable access to healthcare across Africa, in line with the EU’s Global Gateway and Global Health Strategy.
Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, emphasized the strong, ongoing partnership between Egypt and the EU. She noted that the grant will play a crucial role in advancing Egypt’s development in key sectors, particularly healthcare, and strengthen the country’s capacity to produce essential medical products.
