Egypt’s food industry exports have hit a historic high of $5.1 billion from January to October 2024, marking an 18% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This represents a $770 million rise over last year’s $4.3 billion, surpassing the total export value for all of 2023, which stood at $5.068 billion. The achievement is the highest export value and growth rate in the history of the sector for this period.
Regional Export Breakdown
Arab Countries remain Egypt’s largest export market, with imports totaling $2.675 billion, accounting for 53% of total food exports.
The European Union (EU) follows with $1.023 billion, representing 20% of total exports, a 38% increase over previous figures.
Non-Arab African countries imported $425 million worth of food products, 8% of the total exports.
The United States imported $277 million, making up 5% of total exports, with a notable 38% growth.
The rest of the world accounted for $698 million, or 14% of total exports.

Saudi Arabia remains the largest importer, with a 16% growth, totaling $393 million.
