Egypt’s Food Export Council Aims to Boost International Sales, Focus on China and Brazil

Egypt’s Food Export Council (FEC) has unveiled its strategic intent to amplify international sales within the sector, with a particular emphasis on expanding shipments to China and Brazil. This initiative is aimed at strengthening trade ties with these two countries where exports from Egypt have yet to reach their full potential, as reported by the Brazil-Arab News Agency.

Hany Barzy, Chairman of the FEC’s board, emphasized the council’s dedication to venturing into new markets as a top priority for the upcoming year, 2024. Barzy highlighted the council’s plan to actively participate in key trade shows and events held in China and Brazil. These platforms are envisioned to provide Egyptian products with increased visibility and a conducive environment for growth.

In the pursuit of diversifying its export destinations and tapping into emerging markets, the FEC has outlined its participation in a series of international events scheduled throughout the remainder of the current year. Among these events are Anuga, a prominent trade fair in Germany, and WorldFood Istanbul, a significant food and drink exhibition hosted in Turkey.

The FEC’s commitment to expanding its international reach reflects Egypt’s proactive approach to strengthening its global trade presence in the food sector. By capitalizing on various trade shows and exhibitions, the council aims to elevate the profile of Egyptian food products and foster partnerships that contribute to the sector’s growth and economic development.
