Kazan, Russia — At the BRICS summit in Kazan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi characterized the BRICS group as a significant breakthrough for its members, particularly in enhancing trade relations. Speaking during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, al-Sisi noted the positive impact of BRICS on member interests despite external pressures.
Al-Sisi expressed gratitude for Russia’s support in Egypt’s accession to BRICS and highlighted the growing partnership between Cairo and Moscow. He pointed to key projects, including the construction of a nuclear power plant and the establishment of a Russian industrial zone in the Suez Canal area, as examples of this dynamic relationship.
Putin reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to strengthening ties with Egypt, describing the nation as a longstanding and reliable partner. He emphasized the importance of expanding cooperative efforts between the two countries.
