On Wednesday, the Egyptian Embassy in Sudan announced the successful evacuation of 18 students and their families who were stranded in Wad Madani, Al-Jazira state, due to recent armed clashes between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese army.
The Foreign Ministry, in collaboration with Sudanese authorities, facilitated the safe transfer of the Egyptian students from the city. The evacuees arrived at the Egyptian borders after departing from the Egyptian Consulate’s headquarters in Port Sudan.
In response to the prevailing civil unrest, the ministry issued a directive advising all Egyptians in Sudan to promptly leave the country. Additionally, it emphasized that travel to Sudan is currently prohibited given the ongoing conflict.
