The Egyptian Embassy in Sudan announced on Wednesday the successful evacuation of 18 students and their families from Wad Madani, Al-Jazira state, where recent armed clashes between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese army occurred.
The Foreign Ministry, in collaboration with Sudanese authorities, organized and facilitated the safe transfer of the Egyptian students. The evacuees arrived at the Egyptian borders from the Egyptian Consulate’s Port Sudan headquarters.
As a precautionary measure, the ministry advised all Egyptians in Sudan to leave immediately. It further emphasized that travel to Sudan is currently prohibited due to the ongoing civil conflict.
