Egypt-based Arab Contractors Company has announced plans to construct 100,000 housing units in Equatorial Guinea as part of a newly signed cooperation agreement between the two governments.
The large-scale housing initiative will be implemented under the direct supervision of Egypt’s Ministry of Housing, marking a significant step in strengthening economic ties between Egypt and Equatorial Guinea.
Although the financial details of the project remain undisclosed, it is expected to contribute substantially to Equatorial Guinea’s urban development and infrastructure expansion.
Arab Contractors Company-Equatorial Guinea Ltd, an Egyptian-Guinean partnership established in 2003, currently has projects valued at nearly €1.5 billion in its pipeline as of the end of 2024.
The firm is also engaged in constructing a drinking water purification station in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, along with the expansion of the city’s international airport terminal.
This latest project adds to Egypt’s growing portfolio of international infrastructure developments. The Egyptian Housing Ministry is presently overseeing the Tanzanian dam project, which is being built by a joint venture between Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric.
The new housing venture aligns with Equatorial Guinea’s vision to boost its housing sector and provide affordable living solutions for its citizens, reinforcing the role of Arab Contractors as a key player in Africa’s construction industry.
