The Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, as announced by the Egyptian cabinet on Thursday, has established purchase prices for local wheat according to their quality grades.
The supply season is scheduled to commence from April 15, 2024, and will continue until August 15, 2024. Under these guidelines, wheat with a purity grade of 23.5 carats is priced at 2,000 Egyptian pounds per ardeb.
For wheat varieties with purity grades of 23 and 22.5 carats, the set purchase prices stand at 1,950 and 1,900 Egyptian pounds per ardeb, respectively.
This decision encompasses all locally-cultivated wheat types that are devoid of insect infestation, sand, and gravel, ensuring a minimum purity grade of 22.5 carats.
