Egypt Launches Second Phase of Housing Initiative to Attract Diaspora Investors

Cairo, Egypt — The Egyptian government has announced the launch of the second phase of its “Your Home in Egypt” initiative, a flagship housing program aimed at encouraging Egyptians abroad to invest in real estate back home.

The program, spearheaded by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, offers expatriates access to residential units across key cities, including Cairo, New Administrative Capital, Alexandria, and coastal developments. Authorities say the scheme is designed to strengthen ties with the diaspora while boosting foreign currency inflows into the national economy.

According to officials, the new phase introduces more flexible payment plans, expanded unit options, and an improved digital application process to simplify transactions for Egyptians living overseas. The initiative also aligns with the government’s broader strategy to modernize urban development and provide affordable yet high-quality housing opportunities.

Minister of Housing Assem El-Gazzar highlighted the significance of the second phase, noting that the first phase attracted strong interest from Egyptian communities in the Gulf, Europe, and North America. “This program is not just about homes, it’s about maintaining a bond between Egyptians abroad and their homeland,” he said.

Analysts suggest that with rising demand for property investments and the government’s ongoing urban expansion projects, the “Your Home in Egypt” initiative could play a crucial role in stimulating the real estate sector and attracting foreign remittances.
