On Tuesday, the foundation stones for two logistics and commercial zones were laid in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate, marking a significant step forward for Egypt’s economic development. The ceremony was attended by Ali Moselhy, the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and Soha Gendi, the Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs.
Covering an expansive area of 22 acres, the zones are set to accommodate various businesses, including half-wholesale trade, packing and packaging facilities, cold and freezing stores, as well as entertainment, social, and educational activities.
During the event, Minister Moselhy revealed that the logistical zone will host commercial, administrative, and logistical enterprises with a total investment value ranging from 5 to 6 billion Egyptian pounds. He emphasized that the establishment of these zones will bring about multiple benefits, such as reducing commodity trading circles and minimizing waste.
Moreover, the implementation of these zones is expected to yield cost-saving advantages by decreasing transportation expenses, which currently constitute approximately 15 percent of the final product price.
The development of these logistics and commercial zones signifies a strategic move by Egypt to bolster its economic infrastructure, enhance trade efficiency, and attract investment opportunities.
