Egypt Increases Gasoline Prices Due to Economic Reform Measures

Egypt announced an increase in gasoline prices in the domestic market by one Egyptian pound per liter, effective from Friday, March 22. The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources released a statement late Thursday confirming the adjustment.

The ministry cited the positive outcomes of recent economic reform measures, including exchange rate liberalization, as reasons for the increase. These reforms have directly impacted the cost of petroleum products. Additionally, rising transport and shipping expenses, attributed to disturbances in the Red Sea transit, were mentioned as contributing factors.

Starting from Friday, March 22, fuel prices will be adjusted as follows:

Gasoline 8011.00 / litre
Gasoline 9212.50 / litre
