Egypt Greenlights Formation of International Council of Green Hydrogen at Nile University

On Thursday, the Egyptian Cabinet announced its approval for the establishment of the International Council of Green Hydrogen, headquartered in Cairo at Nile University.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, leading a late Wednesday session of the National Green Hydrogen Council, emphasized the need for prompt engagements with various companies that have committed to green energy initiatives. The goal is to introduce unprecedented incentives that will spur the development of green projects.

The meeting focused on discussions regarding the allocation of land for green hydrogen initiatives. Key projects under consideration include a substantial facility in Al-Tur for green hydrogen production, a unit in Zaafarana/Ras Ghareb for kaolinite sand purification, and designated areas in the Gulf of Suez for wind energy projects aimed at supporting green hydrogen production.
