The Egyptian government has granted licenses to seven major companies to establish and operate call centres, marking a significant step in the country’s bid to become a global hub for digital services and outsourcing. The licenses were awarded by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) on Saturday.
The licensed companies include industry leaders such as Vodafone International Services, Raya Contact Centre, Telecom Egypt Information Systems (Xceed), Concentrix, Capgemini Egypt, Genpact Egypt, and TTEC Egypt.
Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, highlighted the government’s efforts to foster a supportive environment for the call centre industry. Recent regulatory changes, including the approval of VoIP technologies and simplified licensing processes, have been instrumental in attracting further investment to the sector. Talaat emphasized that these moves are part of a broader strategy to strengthen Egypt’s position as a key player in the global outsourcing market.
