Egypt Completes Swift Return of All Pilgrims Amid Regional Tensions

All Egyptian pilgrims who participated in this year’s Hajj have successfully returned home within a week, as authorities expedited repatriation efforts in light of rising tensions across the region.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed on Thursday that the final batch of pilgrims arrived safely, concluding a tightly coordinated operation involving dozens of flights from Saudi Arabia to multiple Egyptian cities.

Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas praised the seamless collaboration between Egyptian and Saudi authorities, noting that the early return was a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of citizens amid regional instability.

“With the escalating situation in parts of the Middle East, it was essential to prioritize the swift and secure return of our pilgrims,” Abbas stated. “Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all agencies, we achieved this without incident.”

Officials also commended the role of EgyptAir and private carriers in facilitating the smooth repatriation process, as well as the Ministry of Health for providing round-the-clock medical assistance throughout the pilgrimage.

This year’s Hajj season unfolded under heightened security awareness, with many countries adjusting plans to protect their nationals. Egypt’s successful operation has been widely lauded as a model of logistical efficiency during uncertain times.
