Egypt Braces for Temperature Drop and Strong Winds as Unstable Weather Approaches

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has forecasted a significant drop in temperatures across the country, with a decrease of 3 to 4 degrees expected in most areas. The cooler weather will be accompanied by strong winds, intensifying the sensation of cold, particularly in the northern regions.

The EMA also warned that maritime navigation in the Mediterranean Sea may be disrupted due to the approaching unstable weather conditions.

In addition to the drop in temperature, scattered rain showers of varying intensity are expected to begin in the northern parts of the country starting Sunday.

Mohamed Ali Fahim, Head of the Climate Information Center at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, stated that from Monday, November 25, a cold, humid northern air mass will settle over Egypt, leading to a sudden and significant temperature decrease, especially during the day.

For the first time this season, nighttime temperatures are expected to dip to 12-13°C, signaling the arrival of a cold winter atmosphere. Meanwhile, southern Upper Egypt will continue to experience hot daytime temperatures, contributing to increased fluctuations between daytime and nighttime temperatures.
