Egypt and Tajikistan are strengthening their health cooperation and pharmaceutical partnerships. Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, met with Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Parviz Mirzazoda, to explore opportunities for enhancing bilateral health cooperation ¹.
The two countries plan to reactivate their cooperation protocol, which includes collaboration on drug registration, supply, pharmaceutical industry partnerships, training programs, and medical expertise exchange. They will also share information on Tajikistan’s pharmaceutical needs to identify areas for cooperation.
To facilitate knowledge transfer and skill development, Egypt will implement training programs for Tajik doctors and deploy Egyptian medical teams to Tajikistan. Abdel Ghaffar invited Ambassador Mirzazoda to visit Egypt’s “Medicine City” and pharmaceutical factories in 6th of October City, showcasing the latest advancements in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
This strengthened cooperation is part of Egypt’s efforts to become a medical hub in the region. The country aims to expand its pharmaceutical exports, particularly to African markets, and has been working on a national plan to support the pharmaceutical industry and exports ².
