Egypt Allocates $97 Million for Tourism Sector Enhancement in 2023-2024

Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Issa, announced that the Egyptian authorities have allocated a budget of approximately three billion Egyptian pounds ($97 million) to boost the tourism sector during the financial year 2023-2024. The funds will be utilized for the maintenance and restoration of antiquities, aimed at enhancing the overall visitor experience.

The Ministry of Tourism is focused on developing archaeological sites and museums, as well as improving the quality of services provided to tourists. Minister Issa emphasized the importance of these efforts in attracting more visitors and boosting the country’s tourism industry.

In the first half of this year, Egypt welcomed around seven million tourists, and the ministry is targeting a total of 15 million visitors by the end of the year. The allocation of funds for tourism development is expected to contribute to achieving this goal and further promote Egypt’s rich cultural heritage to the world.
