Egypt’s Presidential Spokesperson, Ahmed Fahmy, revealed on Tuesday that the country is committed to delivering 145 million medical services to its 90 million citizens. This announcement was made during a meeting chaired by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, where government officials were present.
President al-Sisi emphasized the importance of continuously expanding medical services in rural areas and regions with the greatest need. The meeting was convened to review the progress of the country’s Universal Health Insurance System (UHIS) projects.
Fahmy stated that these efforts are being carried out in collaboration with both local and foreign private sectors. The goal is to ensure financial and operational sustainability for future projects while also fostering the development of existing ones. The government is keen on providing accessible and high-quality healthcare services to all citizens, with a focus on achieving a comprehensive and efficient health insurance system.
