The Syrian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned chants deemed offensive to Egypt, stressing the importance of mutual respect between the two nations.

In a statement released Monday, Damascus described the incident as “unacceptable and contrary to the spirit of brotherhood that binds Syria and Egypt.” The ministry reiterated Syria’s commitment to maintaining historic ties with Cairo, highlighting Egypt’s long-standing role as a key partner in regional stability.

“The deep-rooted relations between Syria and Egypt cannot be undermined by isolated acts that do not reflect the will of our people,” the statement read.

Syrian authorities called on the public to avoid actions or expressions that could fuel division, urging a focus on solidarity amid the many challenges facing the Arab world.

Cairo has not yet issued an official response, but analysts note that both governments share common interests in regional cooperation, making de-escalation a priority.
