Egyptian chocolate manufacturer Covertina company intends to inaugurate its latest factory in the second half of 2024, committing a substantial investment of 200 million Egyptian pounds ($6.5 million), announced Chairman Raafat Salam on Wednesday.
Speaking during the eighth edition of Food Africa 2023 at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC) from December 12 to 14, Salam shared the company’s vision of achieving 50 percent export capacity within the next year. Covertina aims to explore new markets in Africa, including Kenya, Senegal, and Cameroon.
With a nostalgic presence from the 80s and 90s, Covertina, known for its memorable commercials like “Covertina Aala El Arees” (Covertina and the Husband), remains poised for growth and expansion in the chocolate industry.
