CNN Travel showcased on Wednesday some of the best tourist destinations to be this year including Egypt, referred to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), which is considered the largest museum dedicated to a single civilization.
The report added that though the Giza pyramids represent “the city’s tour-de-force, there’s still more to see”, as the city of Cairo is full of many archaeological attractions, particularly historical Islamic architecture.
It also mentioned Al Azhar Park which has a design inspired by historic Islamic gardens. While the neighborhood Zamalek, which locates on an island in the Nile River, serves up restaurants, antique stores, and swanky hotels.
