Reuters reported on Monday that China’s Ministry of Commerce has criticized Japan’s proposed export controls on semiconductors, cautioning that they could disrupt trade between Chinese and Japanese companies.
China urged Japan to rectify its actions, expressing concern that the move might destabilize the global supply chain. The ministry underscored that China would take measures to safeguard the rights of Chinese businesses.
As per Nikkei, Japan’s proposed controls mandate companies to inform the government before exporting advanced materials and equipment with potential military applications. This could encompass certain categories of semiconductors.
