The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced today, April 23rd, 2024, that it has made amendments to its main operation, according to a report from the CBE.
The bank stated that the main operation (7-days) will now be conducted through a fixed-rate operation with full allotment at the mid-corridor rate. The results of each operation will be made available on the CBE’s official website.
The CBE reaffirmed its commitment to steering liquidity towards balanced conditions, aligning with its operational objective of maintaining and directing the weighted average overnight interbank rate around the rate of the main operation, which is the mid-corridor rate, as outlined in the report.
