Brother Accuses Israeli Army of Abandoning and Killing Hostage

The brother of one of the Israeli hostages killed by Israel voiced strong criticism on Sunday, asserting that the army had “abandoned” and “murdered” his sibling. Alon Shamriz, aged 26, was laid to rest on Sunday, having been one of the hostages killed by Israeli soldiers on Friday.

According to reports, Israeli forces continued to fire at the hostages even after they had raised a white flag and pleaded for help in Hebrew. At the funeral, attended by numerous relatives and family members north of Tel Aviv, Ido, Shamriz’s brother, expressed his anguish, stating, “Those who abandoned you also murdered you.”

The deaths of the three young men, all in their twenties, have triggered protests in Tel Aviv. The Israeli aggression on Gaza, in a broader context, resulted in the loss of around 20,000 civilians, including over 60 of the Israeli hostages.
