In the ongoing seventh edition of the Arab Women’s Club Games organized by the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, Bahraini team Aali and Egyptian team Enppi have secured spots in the table tennis final. The tournament, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, is set to continue until February 12.
Both Aali and Enppi have displayed consistent dominance throughout the competition, securing victories in the group stage and continuing their impressive performances in the semi-finals. The two teams will now face off in a high-stakes final for the gold medal at the Women’s Sports Foundation hall in Sharjah.
Aali of Bahrain secured their spot in the final by defeating Al-Mawhafaza of Syria and Al-Sharjah of the Emirates in the group stage, followed by a victory over Oqba Hamada of Jordan in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Enppi from Egypt emerged victorious against Al-Fatah of Kuwait and Hamada of Jordan in the group stage. In the semi-finals, they continued their winning streak by defeating Al-Hamada of Syria, setting the stage for a final clash with Bahrain’s Aali. The teams of Hamada of Jordan and Al-Muhafaza of Syria will compete for the bronze medal in the final confrontation.
Nabil Mamoun, member of the Rules Committee of the International Table Tennis Federation and the general referee of the competition, commended the performance of the four teams in the semi-finals. Mamoun noted that the tournament’s level has elevated as players immersed themselves in the competitive atmosphere, especially considering the strong performances displayed by each team in the group stage.
Mamoun praised Aali and Enppi for deserving their spots in the final, emphasizing their outstanding performances in the initial rounds and their ability to top their respective groups. He also extended congratulations to the teams of Hamada and Al-Muhafaza for their remarkable level of play throughout the competition.
Highlighting the Emirate of Sharjah’s reputation for organizing top-notch sports tournaments, Mamoun acknowledged that the Arab Women’s Tournament has become a significant milestone for women in the Arab world, with Sharjah consistently delivering exceptional editions over the years.
