CAIRO – In a move to strengthen their long-standing strategic partnership, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, met with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in Cairo today. The high-level meeting, which follows a two-day official visit by Prince Salman, underscored a mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
The leaders discussed ways to boost economic, trade, and investment relations, including accelerating joint projects that serve the interests of both nations. The visit, which also included a meeting with a Bahraini private sector delegation, highlights a growing push for collaboration between the two countries’ business communities. Just yesterday, the Egypt-Bahrain Business Forum was inaugurated, focusing on strengthening economic ties and exploring investment opportunities.
Beyond economic matters, the talks also centered on key regional and international developments, particularly efforts to maintain security and stability in the Middle East. Both sides reaffirmed their shared position on the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the need for a just and lasting solution, and stressing the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring the continued delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. They also underscored their joint rejection of the displacement of the Palestinian people. The leaders also discussed ways to de-escalate tensions in other countries in the region.
The meeting serves as a testament to the deep-rooted relationship between Bahrain and Egypt, which is seen as a cornerstone of stability in the Arab world. The visit is expected to pave the way for new agreements and partnerships that will further benefit both nations.
