Amidst swirling speculations of a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Salah’s agent issued a statement on Monday affirming the player’s unwavering commitment to Liverpool.
Reports from Saudi newspaper Al Riyadiah had suggested that Al-Ittihad extended an enticing proposal to Salah – a two-year contract valued at an impressive £155 million, coupled with a substantial £52 million transfer fee.
However, the 31-year-old footballer, who penned a fresh three-year agreement with Liverpool in the previous summer, valid until June 2025, remains firmly anchored to his allegiance to the Premier League club. This declaration comes as a reassurance to the Liverpool fan base amidst the backdrop of persistent transfer talks.
“Mohamed remains committed to LFC,” said Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer.” he added.
Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 and has scored 186 goals in 305 games ever since.
He has won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Fifa Club World Cup, and Uefa Super Cup during his time in the football club.
He also got three Premier League Golden Boots and was named the PFA player of the year twice while with Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Saudi Pro League has lured some of football’s biggest names including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Fabinho, and N’Golo Kante.
The team is managed by ex Tottenham and Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
