Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has reiterated Egypt’s unwavering efforts to broker an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, while firmly rejecting any plans to forcibly or voluntarily displace Palestinians from the territory.
Speaking during a diplomatic visit to Athens, where he met with Greek President Konstantinos Tassoulas, El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s central role in facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza and mediating for de-escalation as part of broader efforts to ensure stability in the Middle East.
“Protecting the rights of the Palestinian people is essential for achieving lasting peace and regional stability,” President El-Sisi stated, reaffirming Cairo’s long-standing position on the Gaza conflict.
He also highlighted Egypt’s balanced foreign policy, which seeks to foster regional security and cooperation. The president noted that coordination between Egypt and Greece plays a vital role in supporting peace initiatives and strengthening bilateral ties across various sectors.
The meeting in Athens reflects growing collaboration between the two nations, with both leaders reaffirming shared interests in promoting stability, economic development, and diplomatic alignment in the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond.
